Dr. Phillips Charities and the City of Orlando have successfully launched Orlando’s newest regional City Park, “The Grove Park.” This 66-acre park was developed in conjunction with The Packing District (“the District”), forming a combined 200+ acre redevelopment plan west of the College Park neighborhood of Orlando. The District was named after Dr. Phillips’ citrus processing and packing operations from the early 1900s to the 1950s. The District’s visionary plans encompass a harmonious blend of old and new. This includes the adaptive reuse of warehouses and commercial buildings alongside new developments.
Within the 66-acre Grove Park, visitors can enjoy a 1.5-mile trail for jogging, biking, and walking, a 14-acre stormwater pond and preserved wetlands with a 1-mile boardwalk, a dedicated open green space, and an outdoor covered pavilion for concerts and performances. The park also serves as the new home for the Orlando Tennis Center and a dog park is scheduled to open at a later date. Dr. Phillips Charities donated the land to make this park possible.
SC Advisors (SCA) proudly served as the Development Advisor for the District, providing leadership to a remarkable project team, including Perkins + Will, GAI Consultants, Kittleson Associates, Compspring, Modica & Associates, and Consensus Communications, Inc. SCA will continue its role as the Development Advisor and Manager for both the District and the Park, overseeing park design, construction, and all aspects of Phase I District development.
